Review on 8GB Tayogo Waterproof MP3 Player: Bluetooth Swim Headset with Shuffle, FM & Flash Drive Support (Yellow) by Matthew Augustin

Not as good as the old version

I had an old version of Tayogo headphones (bluetooth only) for about a year. And they were great. When the thin cable to the right earbud was shorted I tried to order these great waterproof earbuds only to find that they are no longer made and have been replaced by a version with an MP3 player, radio and bluetooth capabilities. So I bought this updated more expensive version. Immediately after pairing with my phone and playing music, I noticed that the music was different. It was like some tracks of the songs were muted or didn't "reach". It was a new and initially interesting way of listening to music. But soon the novelty wore off. Too much sound is missing. I then tested how far I could move away from my phone and still maintain a Bluetooth connection. (My old Tayogo never lost connection anywhere alone while I was swimming in the 25-yard pool). With this new model, I was barely 10 meters from the phone when the sound started to break up. But all was not lost. I popped my old Tayogo "primary USB player" into the new "headphone frame" and got my awesome Tayogo back - great sound and Bluetooth connectivity. I would not recommend buying this new version of the Tayogo W12 waterproof universal FM radio/MP3 player with Bluetooth support.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
