1) It's as strong as these monitor stands can be, but it's still not good enough to support two 27 inch monitors. I was looking for an exceptionally strong monitor mount and I don't think there really is one that meets my needs, but this one came close. Everything about it bends. The base is decent, but unless you screw it to a 2" table, even the table will flex a bit. Consider purchasing a commercially available Revain Steel Reinforcement Pad, which will spread the load if you pinch the back edge of the table. The levers have good tension adjustment, but be prepared to turn them all the way out for 27-inch monitors. The monitor's "tilt" is adjusted via a hinge that falls far short of the bulk of the monitor, making the monitor want to tilt naturally. It can be difficult to get the right angle. And once you've got it, you need to seriously tighten the screw holding the pitch adjustment in place. After that, it's not easy to adapt. The worst part of the design is how the arm attaches to your monitor's VESA template. There's this quick connect and slot system that only makes sense if you're going to keep removing and replacing the monitor. It's really pointless for something you set up once, and the price you pay for it is a super sloppy flex fit. The monitor will always have some freedom of movement in this clip, so every time you change the position of the monitor or rotate it 90 degrees or whatever, you have to make fine adjustments to make it square and even. It is not possible to fix the position in this clip. 2) I realized that I don't really need the ability to move monitors independently. I wanted to be able to adjust them relative to each other (smooth top and bottom, the closest distance between their edges, a level, a specific angle between them) and then move them as a whole. This is not possible here, due to the design, the two monitors are completely independent of each other. So if you switch to stand mode and want to adjust the position, you'll have to move the two monitors each time and adjust their position relative to each other. That sounds silly until you try to move the monitors around while moving, which is one of the main features of this mount. If I wanted to set and forget and keep the monitors stationary on my desk, I would choose one of these types of stand mounts instead of an articulating arm. 3) I have a 30" lift table. at the right distance, the articulating arms protruded slightly from my desk. It wouldn't work on a table against a wall. and #3 is beautiful. By the way, VIVO customer service is responsive and easy to handle. They sent me replacement parts with no questions asked.Identical models are sold under other unnamed brands but I would recommend sticking with the VIVO brand name.
