Great tool for pet owners to prevent flea problems

Reviewed by Mrs L First of all, we have and never have fleas in our home. We are not fans of flea and tick chemicals and will not use them. This review is for the Safari Flea W6161 double-row comb as well as the W560 NCL00 single-row comb. I bought both this year. I use a double row flea comb on all dogs and one cat. It is easier to comb Pyrenean wool where a single row flea comb on Pyrenean wool will not budge. A double-row flea comb will remove dirt, but not all of the dry dander that may remain on the dog's top layer of skin. It does its job well, but it's not exactly perfect. And I don't expect it to be perfect. The 2-row flea comb is well tolerated by our long-haired "fluffy" cat. And it does a good job of removing hair shedding, thereby reducing the amount of cat hair. comb well. Removes shedding dog and cat hair, dry, flaky skin and small debris. By helping to keep their coat and skin clean and dirt-free, their coat and skin stay healthier. One of our rescue dogs is a small to medium sized dog with a wiry, curly coat. When we first got her she was infested with fleas from the house where she was outside all the time. I used this type of flea comb and worked on her fur for about an hour. It took energy and time because she was infested with fleas. I had to comb through her coat. Gently lift the comb up to the glass of hot, soapy water. Rinse the comb with water to remove live fleas and egg debris (which looked like hard black dots). Dry your comb with paper towels and start over. I did all this outside and my husband was holding and petting this poor dog. But within an hour I seem to have gotten rid of most of the fleas and debris from this dog. It's also important to comb out flea eggs. In addition, we carried out this procedure on the street! We then gently washed them with a very, very light solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Rinse well and dry with a towel. I combed them with these flea combs every day for several weeks. First double row, then single row. We never had problems with fleas on her again. And she is an adorable, sweet, happy dog who loves to be brushed. She is very precious to our family. Both combs do their job very well. I think that using these types of flea combs has been successful in preventing any type of flea problem in dogs or cats. I think it also stopped us from using neurotoxic sprays, collars, or tick and flea powders on our pets.
