This bedspread is thin as a sheet and strangely hard. I didn't know you could make a blanket that thin. The quilting is not sewn. There appears to be some sort of plastic between the two very thin sheets and the quilting pattern was made using something hot that embossed the pattern and fused the top and bottom fabric together. This is the cheapest bedding I have ever seen and definitely not worth the price it is selling on this site. I was looking for something that doesn't get hot in the summer. I have a year round duvet but it was too warm after adding a duvet cover and top sheet to keep the dog hair out of my bedding. I also get hot when I sleep. Although this blanket is the thinnest I've seen, it keeps my bed warm because I have different sheets to keep my body heat. I'll update as soon as I wash it and see if it survives.
