I am really impressed (no pun intended!) with these ImpressArt stamps! I had my doubts about this company as they are also sold in craft stores and the jewelry tools in craft stores are often not particularly well made. This is my second set of letters from ImpressArt and they are doing a fantastic job! I mainly use them to emboss the inside of rings with initials, dates etc (I do this before shaping the ring as I make special rings for spinners/fidgets). I usually stamp on sterling, bronze or copper and I get a great impression with what I think is a fairly gentle strike. I use them with a steel workbench and my jeweler's hammer. I also use Painter's to align my letters - no special stamping tape needed. I just glue a piece of metal to my block and then use that as a guide when punching. Dead easy!
