Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can damage the clasp. "My experience is that velcro to velcro loop sticks strongly, as does the sticky backing to my walls. But when I try to glue the velcro to some blinds, the adhesive backing separates from the blinds more easily than the pieces connecting the velcro separate.
