It is 4 1/2 inches from brownie end to other end. Gel; it's not like this. This is a solid carrier, actually 5 cupcakes. The fold-out hook that holds it to my toilet hangs slightly lower than the one it replaced. It hangs 3 1/4 inches in the toilet bowl. The smell (to me) isn't overpowering when you go to the toilet, but when I stand and use the toilet I can smell the aroma. The bathroom is in our master bedroom. in the bedroom, 15 feet from the bathroom. It's too strong. Having just installed this I can't confirm a 4 week lifespan but honestly I suspect it will be longer. If it's not at least a four week lifespan I'll update this review. a little high in my opinion; but keep in mind that I'm pretty frugal. If you don't mind the money and physical size of this item, I recommend it. I hope this has helped you make an informed purchase decision. Two thumbs up.
