Review on Enhanced Instapak Quick Temperature Expanding Packaging by Christopher Clearfield

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for individual packaging!

Ever wondered how they make those custom styrofoam bags? Don't be surprised anymore! These bags are very useful for packing fragile items that require a special shape. We use them along with some flat foam to make bags to carry specialized computer gear in a regular hard case. Then at the bottom of the bag there are two bags of foam catalyst labeled A and B that you can feel. You press on side A and the contents of bag A flow into bag B inside the bag. You then go back and forth for a few seconds to mix it up and the foam catalyst bags start to expand into the rest of the bag. You have to work quickly to spread the foam around the bag. Feels pretty warm. You then quickly place and store the bag in or around the item you are packaging. It's hard in less than a minute. Then we found that it is very effective. The company would sell a lot more if you could buy them in packs of 10 instead of a whole case. See https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=4K8Q1uLKI7U to show how they work and how much they will expand. Usually you want to buy it larger than the container dimensions. The video shows a bag preheater, but we didn't find it necessary as long as your office is at room temperature.
