This lens is as sharp as a dull butter knife

Yes, this is a great value lens. You know it right from the jump. However, when you look at something like the Yongnuo lens, which is cheaper than the Nikon or Canon alternatives, you definitely know you have to make some trade-offs. However, this was a rough version of what I was hoping for. First, the lens finish was terrible. Mine was scratched right out of the box. And not just a little. Very deep furrow. Spectacularly built into the lens, the lens hood was incredibly poorly painted. Paint drips were seen on the outside and inside of the hood, visible both near and far. Okay, that looks rough, how does it work? It's not like this. Of course, with a manual lens you have full control over what's in focus and what's not. The focus ring was very rigid. As if it took considerable effort to move it. And even when you managed to get close to it, it wasn't close at all. The optics may have been damaged or needed adjustment. But I took 300 shots with three cameras and maybe 2 photos were sharp. skip it The production is inconsistent and they don't care about quality, they just give you value. Your money is better in your pocket.
