Very Fragile - Screen Protectors

I have never broken a phone screen or screen protector and I have broken three of them within a day or two of installing them. Tried it 3 times thinking it was me, but now I'm really convinced it's a screen protector. I partially blame the Pixel 3's fabric case for being so slippery (the phone tends to slide off my car's center console with almost any acceleration), but those tears were from almost accidental contact.
