Excellent case for the iPad Air. I have several Gryphon cases as well as the main line of Otterbox defenders. I like both cases, they are both sturdy and well made. I dropped my iPad multiple times and nothing happened, not even scratches. I did the same thing on an Otterbox and it scratched the corners of my devices. The reason for this is that the Griffin Survivor case has better padding inside the case, while the Otter inside the case is made entirely of hard plastic. So if you drop the Otter, the hard plastic corners will press against your device and cause dents and scratches, while the Griffin doesn't. Also, looking at the screen on the Griffin you get a sharp image, on the Otterbox you get a sharp image with an oily film. I don't know why this happens, but it happens in most cases of coated otters. The stand on the Otterbox case is better in my opinion and comes with a screen protector, while the Griffin doesn't. Both weigh about the same. This will add weight to your iPad Air, so keep that in mind. It's a slimmer case, the Griffin, but to protect it from drops and bumps you get extra layers of weight. I would recommend this case to anyone with children or people who tend to be rude or afraid of dropping it. It's worth the extra weight for that security.
