We bought one of these for our toddler a few years ago. It's bright enough for reading at night, but not so bright that your child can't fall asleep. The light is cool white but muted by a translucent cover. It's easy to use and shuts off after 20 minutes to save battery. Thanks to the handle, it is convenient for the child to carry it with him. We just bought a second one for another baby after the 'fancy' silicone night light didn't live up to expectations. That's half the price of the other, and we knew it was going to be reliable. Sure, it doesn't change color and is made of hard plastic, not soft silicone, but it won't have you. Because the last thing you want when you finally put your baby to bed is for him to get up again because his night light is off. The first night light will still work many years later and we know the second will last us too. .
