The device worked well until it was submerged in water. When immersed, the base increased several times, and the sound became severely distorted. It became unbearable to listen to music. While this device is waterproof, it is acoustically unacceptable for swimming. Update 9/29/2021: While I stand by my review of the P18 headphones (above), I feel compelled to comment on the company's response. Andy from WearTec contacted us shortly after I posted this review. He suggested that I either send another P18 or, if I could wait a few weeks, the P19, the latest iteration. I chose the last offer. Now I had enough to use them both in and out of the water. They have been greatly improved. Out of the water, the sound is great in both MP3 and Bluetooth modes. In the water, as long as the sound is still a bit "muddy", especially at higher volumes due to water amplification, everything is fine at lower volumes. As such they represent good value and having never tried other bone conduction headphones for swimming I don't know if they differ from the competition. In the end, I rate it 4 out of 5.
