Review on Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX NIKKOR Zoom Lens with Auto Focus for DSLR Cameras by Ghazali Dikir

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Praise the lens is not in vain. Sharp pictures with good color reproduction. Resolution for a 24 megapixel matrix (Nikon) is quite enough. It may be that the fans of the "open aperture" do not like something, such as the "dark lens" - this is nonsense. What do you want? For all focal lengths for 20 ty apertures 1.4 - 1.8? In daylight, even in cloudy weather, it focuses normally (there are separate letters about focusing features, everything is explained there, no need "a cheap lens does not focus well because a cheap, serviceable lens will focus normally), gives excellent pictures. (If the head is in place and arms straight) Optimal apertures - from 5.6 to 8. Modern devices work well at high ISO, this is no longer critical, do not be afraid to reduce the aperture (within reasonable limits). The stub works quite efficiently, but at shutter speeds from 250-300 and beyond without it You can do just fine. Manual focusing is no strain. Interestingly, there are practically no chromatic aberrations on a covered aperture, which was a bit surprising, the 35 mm lens has a little more of them. are corrected in Lightroom. Worth the money, the price-quality ratio is high, I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Excellent design, well assembled (made in Thailand), no backlash anywhere, no dangling, no questions here.
Cons
  • There is no bag for the lens in the kit, the lens hood had to be bought separately.
