The shirt worked very well. I have one for myself and one for my teenage daughter. We didn't put sunscreen under our shirt and were in the hot Hawaiian sun for about 5 hours, didn't sunbathe or even sunbathe where the shirt covered us, but my daughter's legs were burned. I would say it fits perfectly. It was loose but we liked that it wasn't too hot and hugged us. The extra room made it easier to swim and move about than if it were a true fit. I usually buy a women's t-shirt in a plus size and prefer looser shirts, and the plus size was just what I like. I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh 150 pounds. My daughter wears a small and it wasn't tight and fit well, she is 5ft 4" and weighs 100lbs.
