I bought this for my late 2011 MBP which has had the same Speck sleeve since I bought it new in 2011. I snapped off the edges on the bottom of this case and needed a new one as it started falling off on its own. This case isn't as thick as the Speck case it replaces, but it fits well and the matte black finish looks nice. All connections are easy to reach, but some edges are a bit jagged. no nail file or small piece of sandpaper could do it quickly. I have my doubts as to how long the matte finish will look good and not itch, but I hope it surprised me with its durability. Overall I'm happy with it and would buy it again. It may take me a while to get used to the keyboard cover. The keys don't feel deep enough, so they just rest on top of the keys instead of wrapping around them as expected. It will still prevent dirt from getting into the keys so it does its job.
