I have had three Boom speakers but this is the first Boom refurbished I have purchased. I bought it in June 2020. Now, less than a year later, the battery is almost unusable. A few weeks ago the speaker just stopped charging. I plugged it in and the light flashed for a few seconds and then stopped; The speaker did not charge at all. After restarting the speaker (press and hold the power button and the minus button), the speaker started charging again. But now, no matter how long I charge it, the battery never reaches more than 40%. I left it on for over 24 hours and it still didn't go over 40%. The battery used to last for several weeks, now it barely lasts a few hours. Although I've had this speaker for less than a year, Amazon has a 90 day return policy for refurbished speakers. Unfortunately, I'm now stuck with an expensive speaker that dies if I use it for more than an hour or two.
