360 speakers: Bose Revolve+ and Beoplay A1

In this review I wanted to compare two 360 speakers (Bose Revolve+ and Beoplay A1) that cost between $250 and $300. Design, sound quality and functionality are the three main areas that are important to me. See attached picture of both speakers side by side. Design: Both have a modern design that can complement the decor. The design of the Bose Revolve+ isn't all that unique. There are similar pillars 360 in the form of a tower. In other words, you won't know it's a Bose until you see the logo/label on the top of the speaker. Revolve+ handle and optional base for portability and convenience. The design of the Beoplay A1 is unique and looks better than the picture. You have to see one for yourself to appreciate the design. However, the buttons are hard to find on the Beoplay A1. Sound Quality: Both speakers do a great job of spreading sound 360 degrees. The Revolve+ definitely has Bose's signature tone/sound quality, but with more bass and power than the Soundlink Color, II and III. If you're a fan of Bose's signature sound, you won't be disappointed. I find the Revolve+ sounds duller than the A1. The Revolve+ is twice as loud as the A1 with low distortion, which is useful when playing music outdoors. Beoplay A1 has B&O's signature audio tone and can be changed using the Beoplay App. Sound quality is best in the 30% to 75% range. At low volume, the A1 sounds like a non-portable high quality speaker connected to the network. Functionality: Revolve+ has very useful soft buttons on the top. I also like the Bose Connect app, which allows you to turn on the speaker without having to go near the speaker, even when the speaker isn't connected. Every time you use it, the A1 needs to be turned on manually and the button may be stiff. Find. You can't skip tracks on the A1, you need the Beoplay app or a mobile device to skip tracks, which is inconvenient. The A1 also gets warm and the volume is automatically reduced to avoid overheating. I love being able to use the Apple Watch and the Beoplay app to change the audio depending on the content. By the way, when you connect the AUX Bose Revolve+, there is a sound delay. I noticed this when trying to add Revolve+ to my airplay system. Therefore, it is not compatible with the timing when using the AUX input. Hope that helps.
