Review on πŸ”² iJDMTOY Enhanced Knob Cover for BMW 1 2 3 4 5 7 X Series Multimedia iDrive Button Set (Fits 7-Button iDrive, Verify Fitment with 2nd Pic) by Jerry Peebler

Works well. with some modifications

First: It is installed in 2011 BMW X6 35i (e71). Second: Installation was a little tricky BUT if you take your time this might work. I followed the "instructions" from the product page (on the product images). It appears to be the third image on Revain's list. It shows the silver molding that holds the original (OEM) button that stays in place during installation. That wasn't the case with mine. This could be my problem (I don't have a chopping tool thin enough to get between the black button and silver bar), or it could be that the 'instructions' should have a step telling customers about it informs that the silver bar must be removed to get original button. I found it almost impossible to remove the black button top without first removing the silver molding. One last thing: I then put the silver molding back into the original button housing and completed the installation by installing the bottom rotating part of the new button. on the original button body and stick the button sticker on the thinner ring part of the new button (cap), and then stick it on top of the old button body (original button without black tip). Be sure to remove the adhesive from the button sticker and from the inside of the "cap". Also the new lower rotating part of the button required some effort to fit properly on the old button body. As you can see I painted my button parts before installing them because I think they look much better in black. It lets the light shine through the button even at night. I hope this review wasn't too complicated and I hope it helps.
