Review on ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Rectangular Serving Tray in Classic Blue Italian Design by Peter Sullivan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost Useless Serving Trays

I saw this little tray and thought it was definitely meant to hold the sugar bowl and milk jug from the tea set. Both pieces REALLY fit on it almost exactly right, but it should have been about 1/4 inch flat. wider and longer so they sit flat and snug instead of being crowded and swaying. It really has no other use in terms of size unless you want to put a row of Ritz crackers on it or something. You can easily skip this piece. If it was a bit bigger I would definitely recommend buying it because of the cream and sugar, because I have another tea set where the cream and sugar can be used separately (or left on the table) on a small tray, and it has been extremely useful for over 35 years. I bought this pattern (and the tea set) for the garden because blue and white china looks good on the outside surrounded by greenery like box hedges, but also looks pretty lifeless on the inside. Now that I've finished the set I find it less appealing and not quite the caretaker.

Pros
  • COUNTRY INSPIRATION: Blue Italian, the beautiful blue and white collection that Spode is famous for, was introduced in 1816 and has been in production ever since. The stunning Blue Italian collection features a finely detailed 18th Century Imari Oriental frame embracing a scene inspired by the Italian countryside.
Cons
  • boring packaging
