The product claims you can still see the backlight so I bought this. However, you can hardly see how the backlight glows. There is only minimal backlighting on the sides of the keys, but not the letters through the key itself. I'm considering returning it because of this. The backlight is one of my favorite features as it allows me to type at night when doing my bedtime tasks. I still wanted to protect my keyboard and those transparent ones get cloudy after a while. Black ones that mimic the natural look of the keys are suitable. You can't say it's there. The only problem with blacks is that the rubber has to be thin to allow the light to shine, which wasn't the case with this one.
