I bought these for a guest room so overall I'm happy with them as they are only for occasional use by guests. I would probably buy some nicer ones if they were for my bedroom. Mind you, I think they were under $80 when I bought them, so the phrase "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. wood down to the legs. It's okay if you always open/close drawers by pushing/pulling right in front of the drawer's front. Any manipulation by unilaterally pressing on the drawer front (which will always be the case in bed) will result in the drawer getting stuck and not closing smoothly. The wood at the bottom of both drawers is thin and brittle, as is the wood top at the back of the bedside table. I had wooden legs that were sanded unevenly in some places during the finishing process. It doesn't matter as you won't see it unless you examine it carefully, just an observation. Because of the laminate used on the top, it won't hold moisture from drinks sweating or spilling on it, so use coasters. To be honest, despite the poor quality, I don't feel that I regret my purchase as I expected that based on the price. I'm a middle-aged man, so my taste in furniture and level of quality is more important to me these days than it was when I was single. Right now I don't want to buy new furniture every few years. It makes more sense for me to buy things that I like and that will last a long time. This item serves its temporary purpose.
