My desk is in front of the window and all the virtual meetings went well in spring and summer. But as the sun began to set before the end of the work day this fall, I needed to add some light. I bought a JINSE 8 dimmable selfie table ring lamp and the diameter was large enough to cover my entire face without any weird shadows. The intensity and color temperature settings allowed me to create a warmer glow instead of a harsh institutional glow. It's enough for people to see me clearly without looking like I'm on TV. But the tripod that came with the light was so low that my glasses reflected large white circles for everyone on the other end of the camera. So I added this "Neewer Table Lamp Stand Base for LED Bar and Ring Lamp, 15.4" - 27" and used one of the ball joint corner connectors from the ring lamp kit to tilt the ring towards me. Now I am well lit and my glasses don't reflect circles. The stand costs twice as much as the light but it has thin legs that are well spaced to keep it stable and they slide out of the way easily under my monitor stand.I needed one of the ball joint adapters from the ring light kit to tilt the light towards me.This allows the light to hit my face better and also puts more stress on the legs of the tripod;make it more stable. On its own it wouldn't work so well, the light directly on the stand to place.
