Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do not hesitate to buy, the quality is amazing for the price.

Great lens, period. Not for artistic, perhaps, shooting, but for reporting - great, and fast, and sharp, and fast and the range of focal lengths in terms of crop is very convenient. My main working zoom for many years. Got pros: I will say right away that I am under 50 and for many years of my life I gave photographs, which I do not regret at all. I'll give those that are left :) So, I bought it in those ancient times, even before the crisis, when I worked as a photojournalist in a well-known federal media. They paid well. Since then, I've been through a lot with him, of course. Strong, reliable, dust-moisture-proof (tested many times). The design is generally successful, it lies well in the hand and the rings are where they should be. A great hood (it also saved the lens more than once), so advice from the bottom of my heart - always use it. It works for me in tandem with the D200 - a very balanced set. Sharp throughout the range (not 100%, of course, but overall very good) and at any aperture. Although, in my practice, the main working apertures are 5.6 - 6.3 in the interior, but in the open air how it will turn out :) You need a high-quality reportage result, and it gives it always and everywhere, that's for sure. An excellent lens for a photographer practicing in reporting. Focusing is instant, regardless of lighting conditions, you shoot what you want to shoot, and that's it, no questions asked. I am not a photography aesthete, I just work as a correspondent photographer, and in this vein, this lens is my main companion and favorite partner to rely on. Has some cons Well, not original - rubber rings, yes . they "float" What a shame! A professional lens with such a funny but unpleasant defect. To change the "gum" is a service, and the nearest service is in Japan. The people of the gum cut, shorten and glue. Or glued to the body of the lens. The Japanese should be told. Well, here's an even more important question - it distorts immodestly at a wide angle, so . It must be borne in mind.
