I have to give 5 stars because my 4 year old has wanted to play it every night since we got it and now he just has a few letters he doesn't know. I think we will continue to say that the letter sounds next. Like others, we don't play the way the instructions say. We play like this: I take the popcorn, hold it, if he gets an answer he keeps it. Then he takes the popcorn, if he gets an answer he keeps it. If he doesn't know what it is, I keep it. When one of us gets a POP, he jumps up and down the room while I put the lid on and shake the popcorn box. I end up giving him a chance to tell me what the letters are on the ones I have so he can "steal" them from me. So it's not really a "game" but the original game wasn't either and he always wins but he's 4 so he's fine. The original instructions probably work better in class or on a date or whatever with kids the same age playing, but with the parent playing we had to mix it up (of course I'd get every letter otherwise). the animal played too, and he was responsible for it. I think a few more nights and he'll know the letters completely.
