Big downside with personal radios

Of course this radio was $8.99 at the time of writing this review, but I was expecting more from PRUNUS. And I don't think that's enough. The ZESGOOD and RANDY radios I have are smaller and the RANDY is narrower so it fits in your pocket. The two stars are only given because it has an enclosed battery compartment, tuning and battery charge indicators, and separate on/off volume controls. Music sounds awful through the headphone jack or speaker. I have a ZESGOOD radio that sounds better when using the headphone jack or speaker. Also when ZESGOOD is used for comparison, the station numbers are closed on ZESGOOD but drawn on PRUNUS so they are erased over time. The round speaker grille is deceptive. The speaker only uses 75% of the round holes and oddly when you opened the radio up the speaker was the same size as the grill but apparently the battery area interferes with the speaker placement leaving a quarter inch of the speaker covered at the top. part of the front. Even if the tuning indicator is green, the stations sound as if they are not fully tuned. Maybe between two problems, that's why it sounds bad. The pocket clip looks cheap and is not meant to be removed. There is a screw under the clip, so you need to carefully unscrew it to disassemble the radio. Three screws hold the radio together with eight plastic clips. Most of the clips broke trying to separate the case. The plastic feels cheap, like it will warp or melt in the sun if you leave it in your car. Decided to remove the antenna for use with another radio but found the screw was pointing towards the body and not out. There was hot glue or something similar on the screw that attaches the antenna to the case and the head came loose when I peeled some of the glue off and tried to remove it. I had to drill a hole in the case so I could loosen the external screw for the antenna. Spend a little more and get the best weather radio. I cannot recommend anything because I bought a highly rated RETEKESS PR15 and had to return it as it would not tune in and hold stations when the stations were close together and the LEDIANER/GESON weather radio antenna fell off when trying to connect . my KAITO antenna wire. MUCH LUCK!
