Great value, quality replacement key shell solution

Love it! Works perfectly. Installation was easy (as long as you have a jeweler sized screwdriver to remove the embedded chip. I've attached some pictures so others can see how to do it. But it's actually quite simple. I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. Once replaced factory key with another dealer key. That was expensive! And I wouldn't do it again now that the truck is older. Absolutely nothing wrong with a metal key or transmitter. Only the plastic case has given up. It's just part of the whole process that you should note, this is removing the chip. The chip is not a remote control with buttons. It is a small chip which is under the plastic cover in the corner next to the metal key.See pictures. To remove the chip you must You remove the plastic cover and then carefully remove the old casing that surrounds the chip I used wire cutters to cut the casing to cut off. Look at the before and after pictures Take a small amount of electrical tape and wrap it loosely around the microcircuit so it doesn't rattle when you put a new key. see drawing. Clean the transmitter using a cotton swab and a small amount of Windex sprayed onto the swab. I don't know about you, but my transmitter was pretty dirty. Again, see photos. If you have a Ridgeline, put a small amount of tape on the part of the transmitter where there is no button (no trunk open lock). Insert the clean transmitter into the housing. First I pasted the part closest to the metal key. Insert the transmitter into the case half with holes. The advice here is to partially screw in all four screws before tightening any of them. When they are all aligned, tighten them until they stop. You tighten the screw and the seam between the two halves of the wrench body becomes very thin. Examine the seam between the two halves of the case all the way around to make sure it is tight, but not tight enough to rip off the plastic. The last picture shows what was thrown away after everything was done. Excellent kit. If I hadn't taken photos it would have been done in less than 10, maybe 5 minutes from start to finish. DEFINITELY A STRONG RECOMMENDATION.
