I wish I had had this many years ago!
It was so helpful! This creates a straight edge for your fabric. I line it up with the marks on the machine to make sure it's straight and then just sew, keeping the fabric close to the edge. Before I bought this I was a little worried that my machine wouldn't have enough metal to hold it securely, but I didn't have to worry, just the metal soleplate holds it very securely.
