These banana bags Good quality regular storage bags --- very thick and looks like they will protect your food from moisture or cold. I didn't buy these bags for what they are for, I bought them to freeze store bought bread. We live far from grocery stores, about 50 miles away. So when I shop for groceries, I buy them in bulk so I don't have to go to the grocery store often. One of the problems I've encountered is freezing bread. It's just the two of us and we don't eat much bread, but I'd like to have bread on hand if we need it. I've tried wrapping the outside of the original bread wrapper in clear wrap - wrapping the bread a few times but the bread still absorbs moisture and doesn't turn out well after thawing. I bought special bread bags here at Revain but they weren't big enough to fit a whole loaf of bread. Then I saw these banana bags and decided to give it a try. I have the smallest bags I've seen on the list but they are huge and too big for bread. But I solved this problem. I measured out how much wrapping I needed for a loaf of bread and then I took that piece and cut off one side which turned out to be quite large when I was done. I then wrapped it around the loaf, making sure there was no air left in the original wrapper around the bread, and also in the banana bag after I was done wrapping. I left enough banana sack tails on each end of the loaf and then twisted the ends, added a zip tie and twisted tight. This all made the packaging a bit unwieldy, but that's fine as long as it protects the bread. I also made it with a packet of hot dog buns. Haven't used these bread bags yet but have a feeling they will be as fresh as if I bought them off the store shelves. Since the banana bags are so long and there are 5 of them, I will have a way to freeze bread for a very long time.
