My LO calls it "warm pants". We now live in a state that gets pretty cold. My LO wore fleece-lined pants and once said he was still cold. So searched and found, ordered immediately. I was worried he might not like wearing 2 pairs of pants but I tried it once when it was very cold. It says fleece lined but it doesn't feel really thick and very smooth on the outside, you can definitely wear it as underwear. My LO didn't mind wearing 2 pants at all and in fact he came home from school and said he wasn't cold at all. The size fits him too.
