I bought the Guitar Hero Live CD after finding out I had bought the kit a few years ago but only lost the keys. I wasn't sure if they would work because they obviously didn't come with the guitars I've had for years. I was happy to learn that they work great! Connecting was as simple as taking it out of the box, plugging it in, and pressing the protruding connect button on the guitar. super easy!
