Gentle but effective. It has a faint, slightly spicy aroma (no sickly sweet scent). Foams well. Washes off clean. I use this every day. And I also use it as a shower gel. I have been using this shampoo for many years. I have not found a better shampoo. I have never had an allergy to this product. But I don't give it a 5 because of the high price. Neutrogena sold this product in a large dispenser bottle a few years ago. It is now only available in bottles of twelve (12) ounces or less. I wish they would sell it by the quart or gallon to keep costs down. UPDATE: I received a dozen bottles today (09/16/20). In my previous deliveries, the bottles were individually wrapped in plastic bags in case of an accidental spill. But not at this point. All the bottles were in a cardboard box covered with a few tablespoons of spilled shampoo inside the box. What a mess! The caps on several bottles were so loose that they almost fell off. I'm surprised there weren't more spills of shampoo. Was it grabbed by a six year old? However, I'm happy to report that, as always, Revain has taken care of the issue. UPDATE: I received six bottles on 07/27/21. None of them were in the outer pocket. Part of the shampoo leaked out of one of the bottles. I had to wash all the bottles before putting them away. I also received a packet of leaves in the same box. There was shampoo on the outside of the box. If you are ordering something from Revain that is subject to leakage, I strongly recommend that you order it separately.
