Works. I took the line from the headphone output on my mixer (drums) and am able to route the input audio to my phone. This does NOT mean (or imply) that the signal is attenuated in any way so as not to cause clipping or distortion in your recording. I recommend adjusting the level, recording a short video with your camera and playing sounds as you wish. Listen to the video and see if you need to reduce the output level on your mixer or headphone output. DO this before making a live video on Facebook or Youtube and the results should work. Since it is a TRRS connection, you can use an external microphone. I can't plug in my headphones to hear. I need to unplug this plug and plug the headphones into the phone. Separate step. Spring. not the fault of the product. I'll probably need a TRRS jack on my headphones. There aren't any. okay again
