When I first used it between my two laptops, I couldn't get gigabit speed. However, after checking both laptops, I came to the conclusion that one of them does not have gigabit ethernet. If you have the same problem, you can check if your computer has gigabit ethernet by going into device manager and looking into properties. You can see the full speed supported by your card in the Advanced tab. After adjusting the network speed in my other computer, I tested the cable between two laptops with a gigabit adapter and the connection speed was up to 1 Gbps. The copy speed (both computers had an SSD) was around 80 MB per second for large files. This is a true gigabit ethernet cable. This 25ft network cable looks very nice and doesn't get tangled. I am very happy with my purchase.
