Lasts about 2 months with the included glue. I would recommend setting a gloss or semi-gloss finish for painted walls, but look elsewhere if you have a matte finish. In terms of brightness, I would recommend buying 2 packs if you want more light. A pack is a great background light. Short USB-USB power cord. Only 3 or 4 feet long. So if you want the light at eye level or don't have a USB outlet close enough you can get a longer one. Other than that I loved the look of the lights and the amount of light they put out (1 pack was good although I was about to order another one before it fell off) just wish they had gone to bed!
