Bought this unit after reading the reviews. Since I bought a Samsung HDTV here very cheaply and had space for my luggage to India, I didn't spend extra money to take the TV with me. You only need to buy this PAL to NTSC converter additionally. [Of course you need to convert 220V to 110V for TV. I brought a Goldsource® Step Up and Down Voltage Converter Transformer ST500 - Transformer - AC 110/220V - 500 Watt] Was a bit skeptical if this would work or not. In India there are amazing satellite networks with HDMI output like AirTel broadcasting Full HD channels like SONY Sports, Discovery, History. I have a device connected to a DISH receiver via HDMI and streamed the HDMI output from that device to my HDTV. Wow what picture quality in India. The device does not heat up as expected, but a little. The only thing I noticed was a second or two delay when switching channels. But there will always be a ransom for cheaper quality. I advise you to take a 40 inch TV, no more because we don't always watch HD channels. All the local Indian channels, regular format Tamil channels and they appear blurry as the screen gets bigger and we watch TV closer there than here. Great product works as described, has been working fine in India for four months.
