This is the best backpack I have ever had. I don't use my hydration bladder in it, but I can easily carry over a pint of water (two 20-ounce bottles in the side pockets; one 32-ounce bottle in the main compartment). I usually keep the rain cover in the main compartment and can also store another light layer there; both in addition to a liter bottle of water. Oh, and I also carry my wallet and bug spray. I carry my groceries in the middle compartment and wipes, plasters, etc. in the small upper compartment. The best thing is how the backpack sits on me - I don't feel the weight I'm carrying at all. (I don't use a lap belt because it's too high for me and I have a small waist.) This will help you decide. Did I mention that I really like this pack?!? I also like pink. to). Still *best daypack.*
