Boston Gear L115Y Review
vintage planer. They required some additional machining to work in my application, but since they weren't hardened steel, they were fairly easy for the machine shop to machine. They appeared to be a very well made product. Processing looks good. Some pictures I've seen of these gears show them with a keyway, which they don't have. They work very well in my application.
Pros
- Low carbon (0.2 percent carbon) steel for applications where higher carbon hardness and strength are not required for torque and motion transmission
