Tried this shoe in store and found size 11 too tight and too short, size 12 too big. I have another pair of Sketchers (not this model) also without laces and size 11.5 is perfect. I don't know why these shoes are so loose. The insole is also very thick below the toe but not so much below the heel. However, the overall spongy feel on the soles does a great job of relieving hip pain. I think that's what they were made for, but that's what I bought them for. I would buy them again although I can replace the insole
