Water-repellent tent

Great idea first of all. Perfect size and design for a pair of adult bikes. Now the implementation is a complete failure. The materials used should be the cheapest on the market because: 1) The fabric of the tent is not waterproof, only water repellent. After every shower you will still have 1 good gallon of water inside. At first I thought it was leaking seams so I used a seam sealer that I use on my tent and backpack. Vain. And to find the leak I used my garden hose and a medium duty hose and guess what, the fabric itself doesn't stop the water. So the next step is to try a waterproof tent joint. It will probably work, but it's definitely not something you want to mess with in a new tent that's advertised as waterproof. 2) All metal parts (though few) rusted within 3-4 weeks. It's South FL, but still less than a month to rust? I should note that I noticed all of these issues with the original tent I received and obviously thought it was a poor item so I requested a replacement which was dispatched promptly (God Bless Prime). However, the replacement tent had the exact same issues, so I think this is a poor choice of the original material.
