Review on Gourmet Basics Mikasa 5217596 Countertop by Cassandra Lau

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Low quality, overpriced Mikasa junk, impossible to assemble - great design, poor execution.

Two (2) nuts are welded to the frame to secure the vertical handle. They included a small wrench to tighten the bolts. However, if you tighten the screws with the thought that they will go through the wall of a vertical square tube, you realize that due to poor workmanship, no one can do it. weld nuts. As you can see from the picture the hole in the nut does not line up with the hole in the frame. As a result, you tighten the screws to the limit and the handle just pops out of the frame. if the screws weren't there. Then trying to get the tight screws out to see why it doesn't work turns a cheap metal Allen wrench. on the frame if the basket slides in one direction or the other. With each weight in the basket, the top one falls down. "Antique Black Finish" is a very poorly applied combination of black paint applied to a copper base to give it an attractive appearance. However, the result was something similar to a 7th grade metal workshop design. Very tasteless. Charging that much money for such a poor quality product just isn't right. Plus, it's an absolute nightmare to repackage to send back this overpriced, disappointing piece of junk.
