Don't waste your time

I've had this tree for less than a week. I assembled it and it was very wobbly. Broke it, started over and it was still wobbly. I put it in the corner of the room with extra support on either side of the walls. My cat was afraid of the tree because it was so shaky. I've noticed that even some of the positive reviews about the tree state that the tree is rickety. If it wobbles when you first set it up, how will it be in a few months? He'll probably knock someone over! It's not sustainable. Today I read a recent review that recommended using extra washers and nuts to reinforce poor quality construction and make the wood usable. After scrolling through a few other reviews I saw others saying the same thing. Maybe this indicates a problem? I wanted to take it all apart and put it back together with more parts. I unscrewed the top bar. The screw cap on the underside of the perch had broken through the cardboard material. I have attached an image. I'm so glad I discovered this problem myself before the tree fell on my cat. I see another client had this problem and the perch fell on her cats. Poor things! The manufacturer said this was caused by "tightness". Well, why is that even possible? Also, you wouldn't have to "pull" it if the tree were stable at all. I have had a cheap Armarkat tree for many years. It cost about half as much as this tree, and although it looked ugly, it was much sturdier and never broke! I'm sending back the broken tree.
