Absolutely disappointed.

I'm typing this on this monitor. I'm sending it back it's rubbish for so much money. I can clearly see any edge-lit area with backlight day or night. Any black background looks absolutely awful. When playing the Tetris effect, the uncompetitive mostly dark with light highlights looked awful as there are 3 clearly visible light dots at the top, 1 on each side and 3 at the bottom. My wife and I played Tetris Effect last night, I didn't tell her about any problems I had with black light bleeding and black blur. She doesn't know much about it. She noticed almost all of my problems within minutes and asked why. Ghosting and black smears are TERRIBLE! How seriously awful. I'm not a picture quality snob. I'm basing this on the quality of my 27" Samsung VA panel workstation monitor I'm working with, 4ms versus 1ms response time on this MSI. This monitor is 6 years old, 1080P/60Hz with old school freesync. Motion, colour, black and white fills, ghosting, clarity - everything is better than this monitor. This Samsung monitor cost $130. That's $429 expense for the return. garbage for games. Film/video junk like anything is so choppy or chaotic that you can see grass blur or cement/road texture blur like you're using a ten year old TN panel monitor. I will NOT buy MSI gaming monitors again. These plates are used in many of their discontinued products and they are all pretty crappy for such a high price. What!? Valorant is better than csgo but still has black scrawls that look awful. Both games run on my system at the native resolution of the MSI monitor at 300 fps. At 300-500 fps there are problems. Haha, COD CW playing at 100fps won't play on my computer. Color artifacts all over the screen when moving, or the ground doesn't move and the textures just twitch with artifacts and noise. It's absolutely inferior to my budget 6 year old Samsung workstation monitor in every way. The HDR on this panel sucks, everything is blown out and the colors are even worse. In Forza Horizon 4 you can't even see the sky. Basically, everything has a white background. Attention buyers. it can't even match its own stats. You'll get the best results with the "fastest" response time setting, but then there are pixel overload issues that cause their own image quality issues. Even video playback at 1440p and 60fps on YouTube isn't very good. I mean "Costa Rica 4K". Looks very good! Until you watch most of the video and see weird shaky/blurry/shaded areas around grass, lines, edges of things, tree branches, etc. My old school monitor works better than this one. I'm so sad. The only thing it's handy for is working from home, but I could buy a much cheaper 32-inch monitor for that. If you're looking for a good monitor, you'll have to look elsewhere. I'm not even picky, but paying $300 more than my old monitor cost just to make these kinds of compromises isn't worth it.
