I have two of these belts, one is black and the other is desert tan. The latter feels slippery and is less pungent than black flavor. Due to the "smoothness" of the tan, it tends to come loose despite the teeth in the buckle designed to keep it from slipping. The black belt is also loosening up a bit, but not to the same extent as the brown belt. The downside that spoils the appearance of the belt buckle is poor-quality varnishing / painting (link to photo): the paint on the edge of the buckle is easily removed. wears away resulting in a shiny metallic line. Buckle width needs to be considered: 1-7/8 inch. The width of the belt loops on my tac shorts and pants vary, with some loops being wide enough for the belts to slide easily, and others requiring me to remove the adjustment side of the buckle from the belt, thread the belt, and snap it back on .
