Review on πŸ’Ό Folding Lap Desk Stand: Multifunctional Lap Tablet Holder with Cup Holder - Black by Shawn Bass

I think you get what you pay for

When I first got this laptop desk I thought it was a good deal during Prime Day and it seems to have had pretty good reviews to have. It was basic but served the purpose I needed it for. When I ordered it I really thought it felt sturdy and would be a good product. However, I did NOT like that the plastic cup holder and the plastic holder for your tablet, phone or whatever you wanted to fit in the slot at the top of the table were not secured in the table at all. They were simply plugged into the cutouts at the designated locations. Every time I folded the legs to clean the table, they always fell out. And I constantly had to find them under the bed where I kept them. I thought about gluing them myself but didn't want that to ruin the chance of a refund as I was considering it at the time. Also, the legs were a lot heavier than the table portion itself, so they weren't very strong and didn't distribute the weight very well when I tried to use them. Also, with my Lenovo 14W laptop, there was little or no space left on the desk to use a mouse or write on a notepad, so I had to use a wireless mouse on the bed and hold my laptops to take notes for class on my lap when I used it. There is a piece of plastic around the outside edge of the table to protect the raw edge of the table. Within the first week it was almost half peeled off and the front of the desk broke off just when I put my laptop inside. That's when I decided I couldn't or didn't want to use it despite the low price and sent the item back to find a better quality and more durable one. Now I also know how to use it for what I need. I need one that offers tilt and room for the mouse and maybe even a dryer and fan would be ideal as my laptop got very hot during long hours of study and work. Time. If you're only getting this for minimal use or maybe vhjldnoe to use it for a more portable desk or just surf the web and you don't mind using your laptop's mouse pad or a much smaller laptop or tablet with a case for the keyboard, then I don't think it's a bad product for that kind of use. Especially for the price. However, if you're buying this table I'd recommend adding plastic inserts for cups and trays and maybe reinforcing the outer plastic protective rim with some sort of glue.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • A little wrinkled
