I was very skeptical about buying these lights as there were a lot of very bad reviews. After some hesitation, I decided what the heck. They are only 15 dollars. If they don't work, lesson learned. But I was just amazed at how these little lights look and work. They are very fragile so you must be very careful when removing them from the packaging. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those who said they didn't work at all pinched the wire or handled it too roughly. You are very gentle. I plugged it into an outlet, but the little box that controls the remote control is hidden on the mantel above my stove, so pretty high up. I wasn't sure if it would work that far out of control, but it works. In the picture they are set to medium brightness, but in the evening they look very nice at minimum. I haven't used any of the other functions, so I can't comment on that. I'm very glad I took the risk of using these lamps. They work great and are a great decoration for my mermaid "Minerva" who watches me going about the kitchen. Doesn't she look pretty? LAUGH OUT LOUD! Give them a try, but remember to be very careful when handling them.
