Review on MCover Hard Shell Case For 12&#34 by Paul Monzon

Better than I thought

This is a better case than I thought it would be. There aren't many cases for the HP x2 Chromebook, so if you're like me, you've found these. They must have corrected the design as some reviews mention that the cutouts don't match (they do) and that the case isn't transparent (mine). The only thing that is certain is that the case does not close flush if you mount the computer upside down on the keyboard for "Viewing" mode. So the computer fits snugly but doesn't quite make contact with the keyboard, so it stays in "tablet" mode. It's actually better because it shows the on-screen keyboard, whereas it wasn't before detecting the connected physical keyboard. The case itself adds a bit of tactile grip, making it less prone to slipping out of your hands when used as a tablet. I didn't notice this before, but there's also a base that attaches to the bottom of the keyboard. It has a pair of plastic feet to prevent slipping in laptop mode. I don't really need it, but it's nice to have for a complete "look". I was more concerned about the tablet's protection. I took off a star because the fit could be better. There are tabs that "snap" the lid into place. The bottom tabs don't do this properly and are often "de-selected". As a result, the lid squeaks a bit where it should actually be quite tight. I keep these but there are no other alternatives. It fits much better than a leather case.
