We have the split king wall hugger. My wife and I both love the bed, it appears well made. We wanted to retain our current platform bed, but the minimal 6" of the legs of the wall hugger made this impractical. It was just too high up and looked silly. The bed does need clearance below it, but something closer to 2" than the 6" of the leg at it's shortest.Replaced the bed legs with very sturdy legs made from cheap hardware store components. Pictures attached,Took the leg to the store with me, used an abs pipe plug that was about the size of the leg, got a couple of bolts that were the same thread of the leg, and just long enough to fully engage the threads in the bed, but not much longer or it will hit the other side of the tube where the leg attaches. Drilled a hole in the center of the plug, inserted the bolt with a large fender washer underneath. Screwed it on. and is very solid. Operated the bed up and down,and observed about 3/4" clearance from moving components to the platform top. Can't say how much we have enjoyed the bed.
