Review on GENTEX GENK40A Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror: Enhance Your Driving Visibility by Paul Rosemark

Instructions were generic at best/minimum

I've had this for a few months while planning my approach and bought some auto trim tools first so as not to ruin my new car's finish or what that is, any car from which you need to remove the plastic panels. I have a new Honda CR-V and thought my chances of finding useful information about it were slim but I got lucky with it and the Honda forum had what I needed and hasn't changed that much since 2012 and 2013 evolved perfectly. Not only that but a link to Honda's instructions for a similar kit they sell which backed up everything else and gave me a double but slightly different approach. Not being someone who likes to pay someone to do what I think I should do, that was fine. In the process, I also learned about "add a chain" (available at most auto parts stores) that basically allows you to get into the fuse box from the front, and that in itself is a godsend. You need two if you have auto dimming with Homelink, as auto dimming, if left on an unswitched circuit, will drain your battery after sufficient time. If the car had to be left outside for a while/all the time I wouldn't want Homelink on a hot circuit for obvious reasons, but since mine isn't the case I prefer running it on a live 12v Having Circuit Programming Homelink isn't included either, but it's pretty standard if you have another car or car. on the Internet. All in all I'm finally satisfied.
