I bought this camera just before I went on a cruise because I wanted something small and cheap and had lost my previous Canon camera. I argued between this higher MP model and another higher zoom model. I am very happy that I chose this one. During my trip he took beautiful photos including some great sunset shots. I have no issues with the touchscreen and it made it much easier for me to navigate the menus and find what I was looking for. Yes, you have to touch the screen with more force than you would on a regular phone or iPad, but that didn't bother me. The only downside, as mentioned, is the rather short battery life. But even after taking some photos and zooming in/out and in/out frequently, I only got a low battery warning on one day towards the end of my port visit (after about 10 hours). Thanks to all the warnings from other reviewers, I made sure to charge the battery every night before bed so I was ready for the next day. I could see how this can become an issue when you are in places that are inaccessible for frequent battery charging. It would be nice to have a backup. I still give the camera 5 stars for razor-sharp, beautiful photos and ease of use. It really is so much fun to use!
